Since its creation, NHPC has wanted to contribute in the long term to the local economic development of the Nachtigal project area. As such, NHPC implements a Local Economic Development Action Plan.

Nachtigal’s Local Economic Development Action Plan mainly aims to improve local infrastructure in the fields of water, electricity, education, agriculture and support and finance income-generating activities.

It is developed in consultation with the beneficiary populations through their administrative and traditional authorities and covers 7 districts around the Nachtigal project: Mbandjock, Batchenga, Obala, Sa’a, Ntui, Ebebda, Soa, that is about 250,000 inhabitants.
