NHPC is a Cameroonian public limited company established on July 7, 2016.

Its mandate is to design, finance and construct the Nachtigal hydropower scheme, located 70 km northeast of Yaoundé on the Sanaga River, as well as the transmission line for evacuating the generated power to the Nyom 2 substation, north of the capital.

Since May 2025, the company has also been responsible for operating the facility for a period of 35 years.
